ING in Asia Pacific

In Asia Pacific, ING offers wholesale banking across 11 markets, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

ING offers both retail and wholesale banking services in Australia. ING\xe2\x80\x99s regional presence includes a 13% stake in Bank of Beijing, China and a 30% stake in TMBThanachart Bank in Thailand.

Singapore is the regional headquarters for ING\'s Wholesale Banking (WB) business in Asia, which includes all WB business lines such as Financial Markets, Strategic Products, Sectors, Lending and Transaction Services and other support functions.

What does the Fund Finance Team do in ING?

ING\xe2\x80\x99s Financial Institutions (FI) sector combines relationship management, multi-product sales and structured lending for Bank and Non-bank Financial Institutions (NBFI). NBFI clients include sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, pension funds, securities companies and alternative and traditional asset managers.

Fund Finance is a strategic product to provide financing solutions to these alternative and traditional asset managers / financial sponsors and is a key growth area within the FI sector as part of a push to onboard new clients and roll out new products in the region. Fund Finance APAC works in sync with a wider team located in London, Luxembourg and New York that focuses on providing financing solutions to similar private capital vehicles.

What would you be doing?

Work closely with the Fund Finance APAC team in the origination and execution of capital call facilities to private equity, private debt, real estate, and infrastructure funds.

Assist with the management of the portfolio which includes customer due dilligence, transaction management, and client monitoring.

Prepare communication for various internal stakeholders including pipeline, transaction status, and other portfolio updates.

Cooperate closely with other ING teams and assist on ad hoc projects as required.

What qualities, skills and other criteria are we looking for?

We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria:

Qualification:

2nd to final year undergraduate with a demonstrated interest in banking and finance.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Basic understanding of how a wholesale bank operates and its business model.
  • Ability to work within deadlines with limited supervision and a high level of initiative.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute meaningfully to the team and the bank as a whole.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with fluent spoken and written English.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
