ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an Intern, Genetics - Wet Lab to join the Mouse Genetics team to help develop novel and innovative animal and cellular models to enhance our drug discovery and validation processes. The successful candidate will learn:

• To carry out CRISPR-based gene editing of lymphoid and myeloid cells
• To perform Gibson and/or related cloning and gene assembly techniques
• To design genetic crosses to obtain complex genotypes in mouse models
• To characterize responses to antigens in immunized animals
• To tackle difficult and important problems in drug development
• About processes in antibody discovery and development

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Extract nucleic acids from cells and animal tissues
• Perform PCR genotyping
• Perform cloning and gene assembly
• Maintain cell cultures
• Perform mycoplasma testing
• Process tissue samples for FACS and ELISA analyses
• Keep accurate, detailed, contemporaneous lab records

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor\'s Program in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related Life Science fields
• Prior experience with molecular and cell biology techniques and PCRs will be an advantage
