"Mapping SEAH Service Providers for SEAH Response system in selected Developing Member Countries."
2. SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:
All Asian Development Bank (ADB) project affected populations and employees of executing and implementing agencies and contractors’ staff should feel safe from sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH). SEAH is an endemic issue in many developing member countries (DMC), however due to sensitivities, stigma, social norms, and lack of access to safe reporting mechanisms and legal systems, it is widely underreported and therefore frequently underestimated. Where a complaints and response mechanism is not confidential it may impact on survivor’s ability to access services through referrals and may mean that there is an increased likelihood of impunity for perpetrators.
ADB is preparing a pilot implementation of the good practice note on addressing SEAH in ADB-financed projects with civil works. Survivor-centered approach is the key principle which seeks to empower survivors by prioritizing their rights, needs, and wishes. It requires to ensure that survivors have access to appropriate, accessible and survivor-centered services, including: health care, mental health and psychological support, and legal/security support. Being able to refer SEAH survivors to safe and appropriate services should be of the utmost importance.
The selected intern will conduct research and produce a snap-shot assessment of services available in selected developing member countries to support SEAH survivors’ access to range of good quality services.
