Title of project:
Wafer edge process development via bevel movie study

Description of project:
Micron specializes in semiconductor wafer fabrication with many process optimizations involved in order to achieve high yield. This project requires team member to focus on improving the wafer edge yield on the latest tech node by performing a careful study of wafer edge images (bevel region) for any potential defects or abnormal layers across the process flow, and subsequently carrying out evaluations on edge related processes such as bevel etching. Team member is also expected to conduct a thorough analysis on the overall impact towards other metrics of cost, capacity, cycle time while improving the yield. Basic training will be provided on the process, equipment and metrology for a better understanding throughout the internship journey.

Scope:
Your job scope (as an engineering intern) would likely involve supporting the development and implementation of automated monitoring systems under the guidance of a senior engineer. Some specific tasks that you may be responsible could include:

• Assisting in software solution development and implementation to collect data on various key production metric.
• Creating dashboard and visualization tool to help operator/engineers to quickly identify trend and anomalies.
• Help to develop algorithm or models to identify trends and correlations that can help with process optimization/improvement.
• Collaborating with other engineers, operators, and management to identify opportunities for process improvement and to develop solution to address any issues identified through the monitoring system.
• Working closely with IT, SMAI, Transformative and other data science team to support the on-going development and maintenance of the monitoring system.

Deliverables:

• Fully functional dashboard that can capture and analyze key process metrics in real-time/near real-time.
• Documentation, user manuals and training materials to help operator and key stakeholders understand how to use the system effectively.
• Presentation to the team on your progress and findings, including visualization and insights from data analysis.
• Responsible for providing troubleshooting and maintenance for the system to ensure it continues to operate effectively over time.
