What the role is:The intern will work with the team of editors and sub-editors at Fulcrum, to help publish commentaries on the ISEAS commentary and analysis website.Fulcrum, which was established in November 2020, has become a leading commentary and analysis website in Southeast Asia. It features commentaries and other articles written by ISEAS researchers as well as external contributors. Since its establishment in 2020, Fulcrum has attracted much attention from observers of Southeast Asia, with a growing number of views from Southeast Asia, the wider Asian region and beyond.What you will be working on:The intern will be expected to participate in the following tasks:

• Search for appropriate images to feature in commentaries
• Write appropriate captions for images featured
• Prepare commentaries for publication (includes spellchecking, copy-editing and sense-checking)
• Format charts and infographics
• Perform plagiarism checks

What we are looking for:

• Excellent editing and fact-checking skills
• Familiarity with web content management systems
• Experience with Excel or relevant chart producing software
• Photo editing skills will be a plus
• Keen research interest in Southeast Asian affairs
• Competent analytical, organizational, and writing skills
• Motivated self-starter and must possess team spirit and initiative
• Strong academic record

Internship Period

• November 2024 - January 2025
