Asia Philanthropy Circle (APC) is seeking qualified interns at the earliest convenience.

Founded by Asian philanthropists, APC is a community of philanthropists who are collaborating to chart a fair, prosperous, and sustainable future for Asia. Our members, across 13 markets, champion social innovation for public good, and pioneer collaborative approaches to address systemic challenges. APC furthers the aspiration for collective impact through peer exchanges, collaborative ground-up projects and the development of initiatives and knowledge resources to build the regional social impact ecosystem. We are a dynamic not-for-profit organisation striving for lasting solutions to the most pressing social issues of our time through strategic and collaborative philanthropy. The intern will be provided with guidance and support to develop their knowledge and skillsets to excel across many fields. Greater China Market Intern We are looking for someone interested in the sector and passionate about social impact work, with a focus on the Greater China market. The candidate will work on projects to grow and strengthen collaborative philanthropy across multiple sectors from education and early childhood development to eldercare and mental wellness, to migration issues, climate change etc. Our programmes are broad ranging but focused on delivering systems change and social innovation through strategic and collaborative philanthropy. The candidate will support these ideas and execution of these activities in their conceptualisation, coordination and delivery.

Social Impact and Ecosystem Building Intern We are looking for a candidate to create and multiply social impact by aligning funder interests with societal needs through supporting day-to-day operations and events with the region\'s leading philanthropists. Interns will actively contribute to scoping and implementing live projects on the ground, gaining exposure to the philanthropy and social impact landscape. Tasks and projects will be tailored to individual interests and expertise in collaborative consultation, covering diverse areas under the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as education, early child development, climate change, and addressing the needs of underserved communities.

Additionally, the intern will play a key role in building a better understanding of philanthropy in Asia. They will contribute to in-house research focused on the region, which serves as a reference for philanthropists and the social impact sector. This internship provides a unique opportunity to delve into the intricacies of social impact strategy, frameworks, and projects while actively participating in the development of ecosystem-building projects. Candidates with interests in research, writing, stakeholder coordination, and a passion for social and political issues are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in English is required. Skills in Mandarin Chinese is bonus point along with other languages like Cantonese and Bahasa Indonesia, preferred.
  • Possess solid research and writing skills. Past demonstrable experience and portfolio are a bonus.
  • Applies lateral thinking and can pick up new topics. Able to translate concepts to paper, grasp ideas on the go and synthesise effectively and quickly.
  • Able to conduct desktop research with limited supervision based on broad guidelines provided.
  • Have some basic understanding of the social impact sector and willingness to proactively learn about and participate in activities in the community.
  • Some understanding of the principles of strategic philanthropy is preferred.
  • Willing and able to multi-task effectively across different functions, including event coordination, writing, programme follow-up, partner outreach, etc.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Powerpoint and Excel, is required. Familiarity with data management software and social media is a bonus.
  • Strong alignment with the mission and vision of APC.
The intern should be willing to commit a minimum of three months from Jan-June with a six-month commitment period preferred. Exceptional candidates may receive a return offer to join APC full time following their graduation.
