What the role is:The Community Relations and Engagement Division (CRED) fosters a cohesive, caring and active community. We formulate and review policies, as well develop community platforms and programmes to nurture harmonious relations among racial and religious communities. This project will provide a comparative analysis and review of policies affecting racial and religious harmony.What you will be working on:Conduct primary/secondary research work on emerging issues affecting racial and religious harmony in Singapore, including international and regional trends affecting perceptions of discrimination, racism, State-Religion relations and political identities, based on developments in academia, advocacy efforts and civic discourse (e.g. developments in critical race theory (CRT), affirmative action advocacy). Evaluate government and community responses around the world to these social trends, and propose recommendations to address discrimination/racism and build social cohesion/solidarity.What we are looking for:Produce a final report detailing findings and recommendations. Looking for a curious, motivated team-player with strong writing skills. Internship Period : Summer 2024 (full-time basis) Please indicate your period of availability in your application form.
