What the role is:
The Community Relations and Engagement Division (CRED) develops, coordinates and evaluate policies and efforts to strengthen social cohesion in our multi-racial and multi-religious society, taking into consideration current and emergent socio-religious challenges work that you do will help to strengthen community bonds to build a caring, cohesive and confident society in Singapore.
What you will be working on:
The team is working with M3 agencies (Muis, Mendaki and PA Mesra) in building a Malay/Muslim Community of Success in Singapore, underpinned by the 3Cs of Character, Competency and Citizenry. The research project will provide insights on other models of Muslim-minority communities and explore approaches in nurturing the 3Cs within the local Malay/Muslim community. The possible research topics are as follows; (1) Narrative for a Community of Success in the next 5 years (2) Identity and Confidence in Muslim-minority communities Through this project, the intern will have opportunities to gain insights on the Government-community partnerships, identify trends affecting the MM community and offer recommendations in key areas to inform policy implementation. The intern will be part of a team responsible for M3 focus areas to ensure the last mile delivery of services to the Malay/Muslim community and in the development of the socio-religious policies for the community. The intern's responsibilities include: Scan of key trends and issues affecting Malay/Muslim communities. Collate content and formulate salient themes related to research topics. Prepare materials and present key findings to internal and external stakeholders. Provide support to the team for meetings and in drafting notes of discussion. Assist policy operations such as the consolidation of information and data, events assessment
