With the opening of the Hong Kong office in 2013, we expanded our presence in the region and opened a Singapore office in 2020 and a Mumbai office in 2022 to build on this foundation. The opportunity

We are currently seeking an outstanding Associate for our APAC Infrastructure & Natural Resources team. Based in Singapore or Mumbai, the successful candidate will work as a member of a small team, analyzing potential investment opportunities and executing transactions in the Asia Pacific region. You will also be involved with existing portfolio companies and work with management teams to assist in shaping strategy and implementing value-enhancing initiatives including mergers and acquisitions, debt refinancing, budgeting and strategic projects. You will contribute to a team culture where multiple investment groups will collaborate to effectively cover the market.

Who you\'ll work with

Primarily based in Singapore, and reporting to the Director, Infrastructure & Natural Resources \xe2\x80\x93 Asia Pacific, you will join a team of 11 people where you will work in a dynamic team-based environment, directly supporting senior team members across all sectors and geographies in the Asia-Pacific region. You will have the chance to define and differentiate yourself as an investor and build strategic relationships within the global market.

Infrastructure and Natural Resources ("INR") consists of a team of over 70 highly-specialized private equity investment professionals, with offices in Toronto, London, Singapore, Mumbai, and additional presences in Santiago, Chile and Melbourne, Australia. INR leads a geographically diverse portfolio of approximately C$50 billion with assets in North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Our Infrastructure mandate focuses on high quality assets that provide critical services to society with defensive investment characteristics and low return volatility. This includes investing in sectors such as renewable energy, electric and water utilities, airports, ports, and toll roads.

What you\'ll do

  • Lead all aspects of the construction and implementation of financial modeling tools to analyze investment opportunities
  • Assist in the due diligence process and incorporate the findings into a financial model
  • Deliver high quality analysis which identifies key value drivers and financial risks through sensitivity and scenario analysis
  • Coordinate and work closely with external advisors, consultants and partners and submit bids under tight timelines
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and investment recommendations to senior management and, where applicable, the Board of OTPP
  • Review and analyze financial reports, budgets, board books and other information prepared by management of our portfolio companies
  • Work with portfolio company management to maintain financial models that are used to analyze strategic issues and value the company
  • Support internal strategic project initiatives
  • Support the preparation of internal annual valuations
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll need
  • Two to three years of experience, preferably in investment banking, principal investing or corporate development within an operating business \xe2\x80\x93 with an emphasis within the infrastructure sector
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required and / or other relevant designations are an asset
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written with superior presentation skills; Strong proficiency in written and verbal English and one other Asian language skill is a plus (e.g., Mandarin Chinese, Malay or Hindi)
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to establish and build relationships
  • Self-motivated, and possess unquestioned personal and professional integrity
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and ability to perform in-depth analysis
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while remaining detail oriented as well as the ability to influence others
  • Sophisticated skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Desire and ability to travel and work internationally
