Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled IoT Engineer specialising in deploying and configuring IoT infrastructure, including CCTV/video surveillance, wireless networks, door access systems, IoT sensors/gateways, and monitoring dashboards. The ideal candidate will possess foundational knowledge of systems administration and networking, with hands-on experience in integrating and maintaining IoT ecosystems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the development of reliable, secure, and scalable IoT solutions that align with business objectives.





Duties and Responsibilities





1. IoT System Deployment & Configuration:


Deploy, configure, and maintain CCTV/video surveillance systems (e.g., IP cameras, NVRs), door access controls, IoT sensors (environmental/motion), and gateways. Integrate IoT devices with central management platforms and cloud services. Design and develop electronic products with IoT capabilities, emphasizing hardware integration, firmware development, and circuit design. Support integration of IoT systems with existing IT infrastructure (e.g., Windows/Linux servers, databases).
2. Networking & Security:


Implement basic network configurations: VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and IP scheming for segregated IoT environments. Ensure security hardening of IoT devices, gateways, and networks to prevent vulnerabilities. Troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructures.
3. Documentation & Compliance:


Maintain detailed records of configurations, network topologies, and operational procedures. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., PDPA, GDPR) for IoT deployments.
Requirements:

Education:

Diploma/Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field.

Experience:

4+ years in IoT system deployment (CCTV, access controls, gateways, controllers, sensors) or 3+ years in IT/networking roles with IoT exposure. Hands-on experience with wireless technologies (Wi-Fi 6/6E, LoRaWAN, cellular IoT) and IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP). Basic systems administration (Windows/Linux CLI) and networking skills (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs). Familiarity with IoT platforms (Thingsboard, Shinobi). Exposure in smart building system, e.g. air-con system, lighting control, electrical panel, BMS etc. Good knowledge and experience in embedded design implementation, RTOS and MCU architecture Proficient in programming language (C++, Python)

Certifications (Preferred):

CCNA/CompTIA Network+, CWNP (Wireless), or vendor certifications (e.g., Axis CCTV, Hikvision, Siemens).

Soft Skills:

Ability to translate business needs into technical IoT solutions. Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, network, and software layers. * Willingness for on-call support and off-hours maintenance.
