Own and be responsible for planning and driving activities that enable the assessment of business need, capture of requirements, design of appropriate solutions and delivery of solutions. Recognized as an expert and will demonstrate confidence in driving the delivery of change to the business by leading, shaping, and directing analysis activity and the work of other Business Analysts. Be confident and have understanding of process, integrated with technology systems, whilst working within an ‘Agile’ framework. The role will take a natural lead on mentoring other analysts on analysis techniques and providing team members with support through greater insurance industry and IT experience.
Primary Responsibilities

• Acting as the interface and point of liaison between the business and the Asia IT team in order to undertake analysis into designated areas from a business solution, IT system or process perspective to identify problems, challenges or opportunities
• Leading in an agile working environment successfully; such as coach /mentor, encourage working collaboratively, encourage and support innovation and be flexible with personal style and approach towards others.
• Specialising in process, business or systems analysis and will be required to use one or a combination of those skills to identify gaps in business procedures, gather both high level and detailed requirements and where appropriate define or redesign processes, methods of working with business applications, workflow or other related business tools as may be necessary
• Identifying areas for improvement and efficiencies and promoting positive changes to the analysis process
• Managing essential process documentation and project implementation of functional and technical solutions by collaborating with business partners to gather business requirements, provide expertise and guidance and help execute plans to enhance business capability, achieve results and support organizational growth
• Develop standards for the analysis function to meet emerging demand, e.g. digital, AI etc.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of the strategic technical roadmap for the given domain along with architects and heads of technology
• Work with Business Partnering, Project Managers, Developers and Solution Architects to assist in the implementation of business led change, in order to support the achievement of business objectives.
• Supporting the PM’s by working on UAT plans, including supporting the business in helping to define UAT test cases.
• Participate in defect triage and prioritization, and also addressing any requirements defects, changes or questions that come out of QA testing
• Active participation in driving departmental and business unit vision, values and strategy to appropriately align initiatives
• Active participation the development of the team’s business plan in order to maximize service delivery
• Drive overall improvement in quality of analysis outputs
• Active drive and participation with other disciplines within Asia IT to ensure that any solutions are aligned to both business and IT strategy
• Build relationships with industry and subject matter experts by regularly communicating to underpin the strategic and technical vision or roadmap within area of responsibility
• Serve as business analyst expert by guiding and mentoring analysts as required and collaborating with management to ensure team alignment with key stakeholder objectives
• Engage and communicate effectively with business stakeholders, business owners and representatives
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to ensure objectives are met

Required Education

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Experience

• 4 years relevant experience

• Ability to define business analysis approach for complex programs/projects
• Ability to effectively critique business analysis and project documents
• Ability to engage with Business and IT colleagues to accurately convey and resolve issues found during analysis in a well-reasoned fashion
• Ability to challenge constructively on requirements or assumptions whilst maintaining positive and professional relationships

• Proactive - looks ahead for potential problems and takes preventative or mitigating action in advance

• Ability to understand, capture and document requirements in a structured and efficient manner
• Ability to create specifications/requirement documents suitable for use by architects, developers and testers

Preferred Experience

• Graduated from Information technology, computer science, computer engineering or any technical related course.
• 4 + years in similar tech service environment within related industries
• Experience working in a team-oriented, agile, collaborative environment
• Intermediate knowledge in Software Development Lifecycle, Agile Methodology, and General Insurance.

Preferred Licenses/Certifications

• Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA)
• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)

Preferred Knowledge

• Must be competent in working in ‘Agile’ working environments.
• Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products
• Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs and flow charts
• Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies
• Detailed understanding of common analysis techniques and approaches – this should be system, business and process
• Has confidence and understanding of process integrated with technology systems, working in an agile framework.
• Awareness of mainstream IT technologies and architectures
• An understanding of the structure of an IT department, it’s environment and solutions, plans and strategies
• Knowledge of Insurance in appropriate market or business line
