In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of IT Business Engagement, GEN, Operations & Functions for APAC, to perform business engagements at all levels to identify pain points, value proposition, conceptualize IT solution leveraging on technologies to address business needs. Be subject matter expert in the respective shipping and functional domains who can translate and detail functional specifications for solution implementation and evolutive enhancements post implementation. Collaborating closely with various internal stakeholders such as other IT engagement teams, solution delivery teams, PMO, HO governance teams.

The role of business engagement acts as a liaison between the IT and other business units or departments. The primary responsibility is to align IT strategies and initiatives with the overall business objectives and needs of the organization. They bridge the gap between technology and business, ensuring that IT investments and solutions are effectively utilized to support the organization\'s goals.

We are looking for an excellent communicator, meticulous and analytical professional with experience in solution consultancy, project management and through IT solution implementation to join our growing team in the Asia Pacific Regional office in Singapore.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for business leaders, department heads, and stakeholders, understanding their requirements and translating them into IT initiatives and projects focusing on IT value creations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the organization\'s business processes, operations, and goals to provide strategic guidance and identify areas where technology can drive improvements and add value.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and prioritize IT projects and initiatives based on the organization\'s strategic objectives and available resources.
  • Conduct regular meetings and workshops with business units to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure alignment between IT and business teams.
  • Manage the IT portfolio by evaluating, selecting, and prioritizing projects based on their potential impact, risks, and resource requirements.
  • Work closely with the IT department to ensure that projects are executed successfully, delivering the expected business outcomes and benefits.
  • Provide guidance and expertise in technology trends, innovations, and industry best practices to help business units leverage emerging technologies effectively.
  • Actively participate in the IT governance process, ensuring that IT investments are aligned with the organization\'s overall strategy and provide a strong return on investment.
  • Monitor and report on the progress and performance of IT projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, fostering collaboration and effective communication between business units and the IT department.
  • Perform analysis and work with Solution Delivery (Digital & Innovation) teams to conceptualize IT solution, effort and timeline to address business needs.
  • Learn new global, regional or local solutions/initiatives and engage business teams to identify use cases to adopt, re-use or adapt existing solutions whenever possible.
  • Collaborate with business teams on business and non-functional requirements to ensure they are well gathered and documented in Business Requirement. Translate and document them in Functional Specifications
  • Perform functional testing during SIT and facilitate UAT with business teams
  • Lead review sessions with IT leadership committee to receive required approvals
  • Facilitate and participate in review sessions with HO governance committees around data, cybersecurity and architecture
  • Proactive regular communications and status update to business stakeholders, IT teams and IT leadership

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master\'s degree or MBA may be preferred.
  • Proven more than 10 years of experience in a similar role as a Business Partner, preferably in a large organization, where you have successfully bridged the gap between IT and business teams.
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of business processes, operations, and strategic goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to identify and address complex business challenges through technology solutions.
  • Solid project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends, and their potential applications in a business context.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills to align stakeholders and drive consensus on IT initiatives.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing changing priorities and expectations.
  • Knowledge/experience in the Shipping/logistics industry will be advantageous
