Position Summary

Directly reporting to Regional Head of IT (APAC), functional to Regional Infrastructure Lead who based in Australia. The system engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining local and global servers and systems. The ability to multitask, while meeting strict project deadlines is required. The system engineer will need to be able to communicate complex technical subject manner to leadership in an easily understandable manner.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• All aspects of installing, patching, configuration and implementing Windows servers operating systems and VMware/RDP/Backup systems, troubleshooting and resolving problems in a timely manner; monitoring and analyzing system performance and performance tuning/solutions improvements, IT project management and other IT projects as assigned and providing support for systems on Asia time zone; weekend support is also required
• Builds new elements of the infrastructure as needed based on technology roadmaps. Provides input to roadmaps
• Maintains a moderately complex technology or multiple infrastructure technologies to assure operational availability and process integrity; documents maintenance activities; and maintains effective security/backup systems
• Monitors capacity, usage, and performance of assigned technologies; understands performance thresholds and analyzes and interprets data to determine issues; makes recommendations for changes and may implement agreed enhancements
• Troubleshoots most problems within team, providing fault isolation and resolution that may be complicated by technology interdependency; analyzes cross-technology/platform issues; may serve as back-up for another technology
• Identifies technical infrastructure requirements to support business needs; assess tradeoffs between business needs, technology requirements and costs; advises and presents resolution to stakeholder issues
• Maintain documentation and training materials as needed for processes, policies, and application support
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution and support.

Education/ Experience

• 5+ Years performing IT administration, support, or configuration management
• Experience administering Windows Active Directory & DNS
• Experience administering Microsoft Exchange 2013+
• Experience with MS Powershell and scripting development
• Experience with VMWare or Hyper-V
• Knowledge of IP Networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application and troubleshooting of IP protocols
• Skills in exercising initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives, identify and resolve IT problems
• Fluent in English\xe2\x80\x94Written & Spoken

Desired Competencies

• Experience administering SCCM & SCOM
• Experience administering Linux Platforms (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
• Experience managing IaaS & PaaS cloud services (AWS & Azure)
• Experience deploying and administering Office 365
• Experience with Microsoft Intune and/or VMWare Airwatch
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and efficiently
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Highly organized
• Cheerful and customer-orientated. Individual must be a team player
