The IDC Operations Engineer is responsible for maintaining stable, secure, and efficient operation of the IDC data center environment. This role involves monitoring systems, executing maintenance tasks, managing work orders, and responding to incidents according to SLA requirements. The position requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and strict adherence to operational procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Perform
data center on-site duty shifts
, ensuring continuous monitoring and operational readiness.
Respond to incidents and execute service tickets promptly according to
SLA requirements
, including ad hoc tasks.
Maintain a strong understanding of
IDC environments and monitoring systems
; identify and assess potential risks through regular inspections.
Follow
EOP (Emergency Operation Procedures)
to quickly and accurately handle urgent issues, document incident data, and produce initial incident reports.
Use the
ticketing system
efficiently, mastering all
SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)
guidelines to complete tasks independently with zero error and full SLA compliance.
Be familiar with
IDC equipment
such as switches, servers, and cabling; perform installation, rack-mounting, cabling, maintenance, and troubleshooting according to technical standards.
Conduct site surveys, assist in on-site operations, support minor construction tasks, and provide issue feedback to management.
Oversee and manage
work order distribution, progress tracking
, and ensure timely communication with ticket requestors.
Compile, analyze, and maintain
IDC operational data
and submit regular reports (e.g., weekly operation reports).
Provide
technical training and performance evaluations
for on-site engineers.
Regularly collect, summarize, and update operational experience; submit improvements to the project team for review and support the update of official SOPs.
Collaborate with the
IDC Manager
to complete additional operational assignments efficiently and with high quality.
Continuously summarize lessons learned from daily operations and share best practices with the team.
Qualifications:
Full-time
college diploma or above
(Associate Degree or higher).
Major in
Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
.
Solid understanding of
IDC operations, hardware installation, and troubleshooting
.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow procedures precisely.
Willingness to work in
shift rotations
and respond to emergencies when required.
