Your field of responsibility
An interesting role in the Wealth Management APAC Singapore Location First Line of Defense Support (FLDS) team has opened up, which is part of the bank's COO organisation. The key responsibility of the FLDS Team is to implement, monitor and maintain an adequate culture of risk and control within Wealth Management Singapore Front Office. As a part of role, your responsibility includes:

  • Partnering with the Front Office and other business partners and act as a risk and control advisor to Front Office on various risk related topics (such as Investment Suitability, Cross Border, AML, Anti-Fraud, operational incidents etc.)
  • Supporting Front Office Management by providing expertise and assurance work on key risk areas
  • Driving operational improvements through effective risk management and representing LCOO/FLDS in or lead projects designed to improve risk culture, risk awareness and ensure compliance with regulatory expectations
  • Providing support in identifying and assessing key operational and business-related risks across the Wealth Management Singapore platform and recommend solutions to lead, mitigate and monitor the risks identified
  • Providing support on location risk reporting and risk/audit related items as well as preparing and supporting the running of the monthly Wealth Management Singapore Governance committee meeting for the Singapore location
  • Contributing to regulatory assessment and implementation arising from regulatory change impacting Front Office
  • Facilitating inspections, audits and external reviews impacting Front Office and recommending solutions to address identified gaps as well as tracking and monitoring the closure of audit points

Your skills and experience
To excel in this role, you should possess below:
  • A fast learner with at least 5 years of experience in a risk/control/compliance/audit or related function in the private banking space is essential
  • A confident personality with experience working with multiple stake-holders and in handling business and operational risk issues and control matters
  • Team-player with a positive can-do attitude
  • Phenomenal analytical and problem solving skills to assess and handle complex situations
  • Strong attention to details and takes pride in what they do
  • Initiative to identify areas of improvements and control gaps, as well as suggest feasible solutions to address these observations
  • Good client and service orientation, enthusiasm and flair to deal with various personality types
  • Strong written and oral communication skills as well as stake-holder management skills especially in liaising with senior stake-holders within the bank
  • Disciplined, results oriented individual who takes responsibility for your work, and is able to work independently with minimal direct supervision, and to excel under pressure when meeting tight deadlines
  • Outstanding interpersonal and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks
