Responsibilities:

Assist in the monthly closing process, including preparing close reports and completing necessary journal entries.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare and organize documentation for external auditors.
Oversee and maintain fixed asset records.
Generate financial reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedule.
Handle vendor setup in financial systems.
Undertake special projects as required.
Carry out other duties and tasks as assigned.

Experience:

CPA designation or progress towards obtaining it is preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience.
Understanding of Fixed Asset reporting.
Experience in the Transportation or Logistics industry is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables).
Familiarity with financial software (e.g., SAP, JD Edwards).
Knowledge of SAP is beneficial.
Experience with Transportation Management Software is an asset (e.g., SAP, AS400).
Strong dedication to providing high-quality, timely internal and external customer service.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a team setting.
Analytical, detail-oriented, and accurate.
Highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Teamwork and mutual respect are essential.
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
