We have an opening in our Singapore office for a Civil/structural consultant to conduct forensic investigations into the failure of civil/structural facilities and infrastructure in Singapore and the Asian region.

The work you\xe2\x80\x99ll do as the Civil/Structural Engineer in our Forensics group will support delivering excellent project results and stellar client experience. This role will require extensive people, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects continuously.

Your areas of responsibility:

• Investigates the origin and cause of failures, damages, or defects in the civil/structural fields within residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
  

• Analyzes the failure of building systems, determine the cause of failures, evaluate the quality of construction, or review design or maintenance procedures.
  

• Performs field investigations and leads multi-party examinations and documentation of the damaged property.
  

• Research failure modes and code requirements as needed and prepare recommendations for repair and/or remediation as appropriate.
  

• Prepares reports and letters outlining the origin and cause of the damages to our clients.
  

• Manages/works with multi-disciplinary teams on large and complex assignments.
  

• Establishes trusted working relationships with clients and interacts socially at mixed engagements with clients.
  

• Demonstrate professionalism in communication, punctuality, follow-through, and commitment to the success of the client\'s business.
  

• Professional engineering registration is essential, e.g., Chartered Engineer (CEng) registration and/or a similar registration.
  

• Singapore Professional Engineer (PE) status is highly preferred.
  

• Legal experience as an expert witness, including deposition and trial appearances
  

• 5 years or more of civil/structural design and failure investigation. with experience in 3 or more of the following areas: Structural (steel, concrete, masonry and timber), Civil (tunneling, hydrology, retaining walls, sheet piling), Geotechnical (foundation settlement/movement, erosion, sinkholes), Construction defects, Earthquake assessment, Fire damage assessment of structure.
  

• Clear verbal English language skills for technical discussions with clients and other experts
  

• Extremely good English writing skills for preparing detailed technical reports
  

• Experience in teaching/training, for facilitating training and providing webinars in areas of expertise
  

• Ability to travel around the Asian region
