Join the team that manufactures the most popular Filipino brand in mixes, sauces, condiments, and more, Mama Sita's!The Jr. R&D Product Development Specialist is responsible for performing product development from product concept until product commercialization. It includes the development of the new product, product reformulation, and improvement, development of product extensions or new SKU/s of an existing product, in-house material development, and process development of an existing product for new equipment and process design. Also, in charge of developing and modifying products through testing and experimentation of different raw materials or by-products. The position is also responsible for supervising product batch standardization, conducting shelf-life studies, and handling special projects/research.Must-haves:

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology or Chemical Engineer
• Considerable years of relevant/similar work experience in a Food Manufacturing set-up specifically the Dry Mixes & Sauces line is an advantage.
• With analytical skills; a self-motivated individual with the ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization
• Can work with minimal supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail; strong decision-making skills
• Integrity & professional ethics

• Performs product development experimentation and applicable research and product development activities such as product reformulation, raw material replacement and/ or adjustment, process improvements, and other applicable actions.
• Conducts improvements and modifications on existing products to come up with a cost-efficient and more suitable process design in consideration of the food safety requirements of the organization.
• Develops and/or formulates new recipes for new and/or existing sauces and dry mixes.
• Acts as trained sensory panelist for delivered raw materials and other sensory evaluation activities necessary for evaluation and assessment of developed products and/ or processes.
• Evaluate new materials, including alternative materials that are significant in the execution of product developments and batch trial productions.
• Coordinates with Purchasing Department and the Section for any raw materials, packaging materials, and product technical information.
• Leads and supervises batch trial production and standardization of process design for production.
• Coordinates with Purchasing for raw material requirements and with Supply Chain and Production for possible batch trial schedule.
• Performs shelf-life study for newly developed products and/ or existing products for validation. Composes and generates a consolidated report of the study.
• Conducts intensive research on the property and composition of raw materials for product development.
• Provides product information as labeling data for label development. Provides sample product when necessary. Coordinates with Intellectual Property Department for ingredient and allergen declaration.
• Performs product rework and/or troubleshooting for nonconforming products.
• Review and update R&D procedural documents. Cater to the need of the Sales & Marketing team for prototype samples for any marketing activities and events.
• Performs other duties as may be required by the immediate superior and/or the management.
