ResponsibilitiesAs a Junior Reconciliation Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting in the reconciliation of financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations. You will work closely with senior reconciliation specialists and other finance professionals to analyze discrepancies, resolve issues, and maintain precise financial records.
Data Reconciliation: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of financial data, including but not limited to bank statements, general ledger accounts, and transactions.
Identify Discrepancies: Review financial records and identify any discrepancies or irregularities. Investigate and analyze root causes of discrepancies.
Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of reconciliation processes, findings, and resolutions. Ensure all documentation meets audit and compliance standards.
Communicate Findings: Communicate reconciliation findings and discrepancies to relevant stakeholders, including management, finance teams, and auditors. Provide regular updates on reconciliation progress.
Issue Resolution: Collaborate with internal teams to resolve reconciliation issues in a timely manner. Implement corrective actions to prevent future discrepancies.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes and procedures. Make recommendations for enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Adherence to Policies and Regulations: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GAAP, SOX). Stay updated on changes in regulations affecting reconciliation processes.
Support Audits: Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations related to reconciliation activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as accounting, treasury, and operations, to facilitate effective reconciliation processes and resolve issues.
Requirements
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree/ Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
