We are currently recruiting a Lab manager/ Research Associate (or Assistant) who will join the laboratory of Assistant Professor Baptiste Janela at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), a joint medical school between Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore.
Baptiste Janela\xe2\x80\x99s Lab is located in the state-of-the-art Clinical Sciences Building in the Novena campus of LKCMedicine. Skin immunology research is the epicentre of our research programme. Our research focusses on the understanding and deciphering of the role and specific functions of the antigen-presenting cells (APC) in skin health and diseases notably atopic dermatitis, autoimmune bullous diseases (AIBDs), drug hypersensitivity, skin bacterial infection, tissue regeneration and skin cancer. Our approach integrates the application and development of new methods that take advantage of the combination of high dimensional flow cytometry, single cell RNA sequencing analysis and skin imaging. In addition, our group is also involved in advanced research in tissue engineering. We are developing immunocompetent 3D skin equivalents from induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs).

The responsibilities of the Lab manager will include, but not limited to:
Procurement and purchasing laboratory equipment, reagents, consumables, etc
Write and edit SOP, and conduct user training
Establishing and maintaining laboratory records and inventories
Participating in regular lab meetings/discussions actively
Training new team members
Holding independent projects under the guidance of the PI
Assisting other laboratory members in experiments as needed (including samples processing, flow cytometry, single cell RNA seq experiment, cell culture)
The candidate should have the following qualifications and skills:
Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related disciplines from reputable university
At least 2 to 3 years of working experience in research laboratory
Experienced in sample processing (mouse and/or human sample including blood and skin)
Experienced in flow cytometry
Experienced in Single cell RNA seq experiment
Experienced in cell culture
Well-organized and attentive to details
Be able to work independently and responsibly, as well as a proactive team player with excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, and ready to collaborate within the laboratory and beyond
Self-motivated, capable in setting priorities and thinking critically
Enjoy and capable of troubleshooting
