What the role is:The Cosmetics Laboratory of Health Sciences Authority is seeking a Laboratory Officer to support the routine analytical testing on cosmetic products, perform calibration and the maintenance of HPLC, GC, and standard analytical instruments.What you will be working on

• Conduct routine analysis using HPLC, GC, ICPMS, and standard analytical techniques, independently.
• Ensure smooth laboratory operations by diligently performing assigned duties, including the operation, maintenance and calibration of assigned analytical instruments.
• Manage the documentation in accordance to ISO/IEC17025 quality management systems requirements
• Prepare standards operating procedure for instruments, testing methods, and relevant documents relating to analytical testing
• Participate in proficiency testing programmes and support relevant quality assurance initiatives and activities.
• Maintain good laboratory safety practices and ensure laboratory cleanliness and safety.
• Participate in method development, work improvement and R&D projects.
• Assist in administrative duties to support laboratory operations.

What we are looking for

• Background in Chemistry or Life Sciences, or other relevant disciplines.
• At least 1 year laboratory experience in chemical analysis is preferred.
• Experience in analytical method development and validation is preferred
• Experience with techniques in the fields of cosmetics will be an advantage
• Experience or knowledge of the ISO/IEC17025 quality management system requirements is preferred.
• Working knowledge of general laboratory housekeeping and laboratory safety practices preferred.
• Good organisation skills and able to multitask and deliver good quality results in a timely and meticulous manner.
• Team player with effective communication and good interpersonal skills.
