Job Description


Role Responsibilities

  • The Lead Delivery Coach drives our aspiration as a Bank to excel at delivering value to our Customers and improving the ways of working of our people and teams. The role is an outcomes-driven transformation partner to delivery teams (Hives, Squads, Expertise Teams) that drives continuous improvement of delivery performance measured via OKRs, DORA, Flow Metrics, Resiliency, etc.
  • To be successful in the role, you must have (1) courage to call out gaps in our ways of working and constraints to our Flow of Work, (2) use data and insights to analyse and highlight the issues, (3) align improvements to clear business outcomes, and (4) use a variety of practices and tools in your arsenal to solve them.
Strategy
  • Steer the transition of teams to a Product Delivery Organization that builds and maintains its products, services, and capabilities, and embed high performance culture and continuous improvement on delivery productivity and ways of working.
  • Proactively and courageously identify, analyse, and steer solutions on organizational impediments and constraints to productivity, quality, early risk mitigation, and continuous delivery of value
Business
  • Continuously align ways of working within and across teams to deliver on Objectives and Key Results, improvement of KPIs, and realizing efficiencies
Processes
  • Challenge and steer improvement of processes, governance, team design, org structure, funding models to improve delivery performance, productivity, and efficiency
  • Lead process improvement initiatives with a clear business case through various tools (A3, Kaizen, Improvement Kata, Process Reviews, etc.)
People & Talent
  • Be the change - model the agile mindset, values, and principles of team ownership and shared accountability, skin in the game, and striving to do better every day.
  • Train, coach, and mentor leaders and teams on key principles, practices, and ways of working of a Product Delivery organization (customer collaboration, direct feedback, iterative development, product discovery, shift-left and x-by-design, etc.)
Risk Management
  • Speak up and proactively flag gaps and deviations to the key principles, ways of working standards and reference models as a Product Delivery organization, and steer execution of improvement plans to address them
Governance
  • Provide data-driven analysis and improvement opportunities on delivery productivity, and work with leaders and teams to address them
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\'s Values and Code of Conduct .
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\'s Conduct Principles. Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 10+ year experience in software engineering or product management
  • 5+ year experience in agile transformation, agile coaching, or managing agile teams
  • Proficiency on software development lifecycle and use of tools (Azure DevOps, JIRA, etc.)
  • Certifications are desired (Scrum Master, Product Ownership, ICAgile, LeSS, etc.) as long as backed by extensive hands-on experience on software engineering and product management.
Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Agile transformation, agile coaching, or managing agile teams
  • Azure DevOps, JIRA, etc.
