As a Lead Data Engineer (Data Engineering Specialist), you will act as a trusted technical authority for major government agencies, combining deep hands-on data engineering expertise with strong client leadership. You will lead the design, build, and adoption of secure, compliant data platforms on GCC/GCC+ environments, drive data migration and modernization initiatives, and facilitate platform-enabled transformation and discovery workshops to unlock analytics and AI value. In this role, you will bridge technical delivery with stakeholder engagement, translating agency requirements into actionable data architectures while ensuring adherence to IM8 controls and system accreditation standards.
What will you do?
Platform Architecture & Engineering

• Architect, build, and oversee secure, scalable data pipelines and platforms on GCC / GCC+ environments
• Ensure compliance with IM8 controls, system accreditation, and government security requirements
• Lead data migration and modernization initiatives for large-scale government systems

Client Advisory & Leadership

• Serve as a credible, "go-to" technical leader in government client environments
• Provide engineering leadership and technical assurance across complex data initiatives
• Partner closely with agency stakeholders to guide platform and technology decisions

Discovery & Enablement

• Lead data platform-enabled discovery and transformation workshops
• Elicit and define requirements related to data sharing, analytics, and AI/ML use cases
• Translate business and policy needs into actionable technical architectures and delivery plans

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, with strong exposure to government or regulated environments
• Proven reputation as a dependable and credible technical figure with senior client stakeholders
• Strong mastery of modern data platforms, including Databricks, Snowflake, and cloud-native data services
• Experience designing and delivering secure, production-grade data pipelines at scale
• Ability to lead client-facing workshops and translate ambiguous requirements into clear technical solutions
