Responsible for the design of a product or solution, from conception to development and verification. Applies expert technical knowledge and engineering principles in the software development of products and solutions. Provides guidance to other engineers for technical issues, design reviews, and complex problem resolution. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Incorporates business, market, industry, and competitive knowledge into technical solutions that can be readily adapted to changes in technology and/or clinical use.
  • Leads requirement analysis, detailed design, implementation and verification activities for a product or solution with cross function team.
  • Makes difficult design trade-offs and decisions about features, schedule, quality and cost.
  • Seeks the optimal technology solutions to problems from internal and external options, and applies appropriate methodology to identify issues/concerns.
  • Primary accountability for major element of a project, determines all tasks that are required, and is responsible for project outcome.
  • Lead Designs, develops and/or directs research and tests to validate effect and consequences of designs, process or product enhancements across projects and/or products.
  • Proactively determines measures and standards of success for project, product, and process quality within project teams.
  • Results oriented, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaboratively with others in a team environment.

Qualifications - External
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s or Master Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or local equivalent of same; generally, 7 - 10 years of experience.
  • Familiar with complete software development life cycle from proof of concept, design, development, release and even post release support.
  • Experience with leading software development team to deliver embedded system products to customer together with cross functional team following product requirements and timeline.
  • Experience of lead and deliver embedded software architecture design, test plan, risk analysis, task management in creating applications for embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of Cloud, Mobile App development and Cybersecurity technology will be an advantage.
  • Experience with Medical Devices and FDA Regulations will be an advantage.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Strong knowledge in programming language C, C++, familiar with Software Design Pattern.
  • Strong knowledge and product development experience in embedded OS environment, such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, µC/OS or Embedded Linux, familiar with embedded application, or firmware development.
  • Experience with communication protocols and interfaces (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, USB, TCP/IP) driver, touch screen or control panels product development.
  • Experience with ARM Cortex A or M based microcontrollers and application processors.
  • Good knowledge or experience on digital control, analog circuits, sensor interfaces, motor driver control, embedded systems/control, network interfaces. Be able to read schematics and interact with hardware engineers to understand hardware, software trade-offs.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), documentation and presentation skills.
  • Strong debugging/problem-solving skills.
  • Good teamwork and leadership skill with can do attitude, ability to empower team members to drive to output.
