What the role is:
The Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) which aims to pioneer innovation solutions and develop world class science and technology capabilities to transform and empower the Home Team in delivering safety and security for Singapore. We are looking for candidates to fulfill a role in Enterprise Comms & Digital Infra as Engineer/ Lead Engineer reporting to Head, Sensor Deployment. He/ She will be part of a dynamic team involved in deploying cutting-edge sensors island-wide that will enable cognitive analytics in an efficient and sustainable approach for the Home Team departments.
What you will be working on:
The principal accountabilities of the job holder to: o Ensure timely delivery of projects within the committed schedule and budget ensuring project issues are timely resolved or escalated to management for attention. o Provide regular update to HTX management on the project progress highlighting project milestones, issues and track project expenditure. o Effectively engage and manage all relevant stakeholders to deliver system. o Identify, manage project risks and implications to the project and to recommend mitigating measures o Manage contractual and payment matters affecting the projects and ensure that systems are operating according to service level agreements o Understand the various prevailing policies and security guidelines and to ensure the system and processes are designed to comply with these policies and guidelines o Ensure proper integration and testing of all hardware and software components so the system is delivered according to contractual requirements. Depending on candidate's suitability, he/ she can be tasked with one or more of the following secondary accountabilities: o Work with external agencies and/or Home Team Departments (HTDs) to enhance and enable intelligence on existing or new sensor system through augmented analytics o Optimizing sensors deployed to minimise duplications through data engineering o Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data acquired with good knowledge on Cybersecurity practices o Collaborate with various teams to integrate sensors to backend applications and interface seamlessly with AI and data engineering team o Collaborate with various agencies to maximize the synergies from the Whole-Of Government approach o Ability to simplify ideas, present and engage stake holders and senior management. o Keep abreast of technological advances in Sensors, data analysis, continual refinement of architectures and government policies & recommendations, etc
What we are looking for:

• Tertiary qualification in computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, or other related Engineering. Applicants with postgraduate qualifications and/or more than 5 years of experience working in the relevant technology domains will be considered for senior positions. o 0-3 years of relevant networking working experience for Engineer/Lead Engineer and at least 8 years for Principal Engineer in a suitably sized enterprise environment. o Strong understanding in one or more of the following areas: o Deployment and maintenance of Large-scale Front-End Sensors o Work with multiple stakeholders on verifications of optimal on-site deployment o Good understanding on System and Network Integration o Infrastructure Construction to support ICT equipment (e.g. Structures, Electrical, Network Installation, Wireless Transmission, etc.) o Cybersecurity on edge sensors integration o Candidate with knowledge video surveillance technology, including transmission technology, data storage system and data security technology; and experience in critical operation activities will have an added advantage o Strong planning and project management skills, with facilitation skills, problem-solving skills and organising capabilities. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification would be an advantage. o Strong interest in technology and innovation. o Competent, self-motivated, pro-active, dedicated and responsible as well as having the ability to work independently without the need for close supervision.
