In fulfilling this mission, ABS leads research and develops guidance and requirements focused on the safety of implementing new technology in the marine and offshore environment. As the Lead of ABS Global Simulation Center, you will be actively engaged in driving industry-leading research and development associated with Modeling and Simulation . What You Will Do:

• Lead the ABS Global Simulation Center, in charting the path forward for the marine and offshore industry in the field of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) with focus on the following areas:
  • M&S of systems onboard of ships or offshore platforms such as power and propulsion systems, electrical system, and fuel gas supply systems
  • M&S of ship and fleet operation in seaway
  • M&S of maritime ecosystems such as green shipping corridors
  • Virtual testing of complex systems using Model-In-the-Loop (MIL), Software-In-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL)
  • Model-based plan review and survey
  • Simulation-based Energy Efficiency Evaluation for new build and retrofit

Activities will include:

• Collaboration with industry stakeholders on joint research initiatives
• Development of guidelines address the use of the technology
• Application of software tools to support design, verification & validation
• Actively promote the services and capabilities of ABS throughout the technical and business community.
  

What You Will Need: Education & Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience in the energy industry, shipyard, design/consulting office, shipping/oil company, university, or classification society.
• Minimum of bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or other related discipline; MSc or PhD is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 Experience in managerial position
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of ship systems such as onboard power, propulsion, electrical, and control systems.
• Knowledge of classification rules and industry standards regarding power and electrical systems
• Knowledge and experience in simulation software such as Amesim, Simulink, ETAP, and SKM would be an advantage.
• Strong communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent command of the English language.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others .
  

Reporting Relationships: Reports, as assigned, to a Director or Vice President.
