Joining us means joining a caring, responsible, and innovative company where more than 70,000 people lead the way to greener and smarter mobility, worldwide OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE Lead, manage and control of all Operability engineering-related activities in the project to deliver on timely with considering the safety and reliability requirements, budget, and schedule. Ensure the “lessons learned” and the best practices are applied on projects and transferred to new projects. Acts as main operational Engineering Interface with the customer to ensure the R151 trains verified all the interfaces with the existing infrastructure. Provide R151 trains training (train functionality) to the different stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To lead all aspects of reliability, safety, design, implementation, testing and commissioning required to deliver the scope of the engineering project so as to satisfy customer requirements while adhering to project budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinate and synergise transition from product introduction to fully capable and stable operation. Ensure a functionally effective operational team is established and maintained (this is in support of the Product introduction team).
  • Establish and maintain interfaces with other Engineering departments & with relevant functions (Project Management, Procurement, Operations, Sales, Bids).
  • Continuous optimization of Project Engineering processes/tools/behaviours by considering business requirements, customer needs, technical innovations, and new market conditions.
  • Monitor, control and report monthly all product related financial aspects of the project consistent with the contract requirements and established project management procedures to attain established goals.
  • Ensuring that relevant skills are made available by the Engineering Function to fulfil project requirements.
  • To contribute at a strategic level to overall business growth in Rolling Stock Maintenance Organisation.
  • To ensure the completeness of training to Customer on the R151 train functionality and operational aspects.
  • To verify and validate the train system and sub-system functionality is align with contractual requirement

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledgeable in areas of train maintenance and life cycle cost.
  • Working knowledge of railway safety management systems and safety risk assessment.
  • Knowledgeable in areas of fleet performance.

BEHAVIOURAL/TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
  • Experience of managing a cross functional team. 6-8 years of direct people management.
  • Customer management and delivering high standard of service.
  • 20 years of experience in rolling stock environment
  • Proven track record of successful delivery of engineering and operational performance.
  • Excellent product understanding and problem-solving skills within rail industry.
  • Ideally financially astute with high level understanding of budgets and financial models.
