What the role is:Lead Scientist / Healthcare Engineering CentreWhat you will be working on:

• Lead the R&D project team, including planning, coordination, delegation, and supervision
• Mentor the R&D team in his/her area of expertise
• Develop the technical capabilities of the Centre\'s R&D focus areas
• Assist Centre Head in R&D strategies, and planning and execution of deliverables
• Constantly engage in innovative ideas and collaborative initiatives in technological innovation and industry consultancy work for potential new projects
• Proactively lead the team to the forefront of science and commercialization
• Apply R&D grant application as a Principal Investigator (PI)
• ollaborate with industry companies and other research institutions for project development
• Conceptualize inventions leading to legally enforceable & impactful IPs
• Communicate with internal and external project collaborators for progress reporting and potential commercialization of deliverables
• Student training and project supervision

What we are looking for:

• Qualification in Electronics / Biomedical Engineering or related disciplines
• 10-20 years of R&D working experience as Project Lead for grant application, project execution, and collaborate with local companies for commercialization
• Proven track record of technology innovation, design, and development
• R&D Grant application and research proposal writing experience
• Experience in the development of Biosensors, microfluidics or flexible and wearable sensors
• A self-starter who works well in cross-functional capacities
• Possess skills for integrating different disciplines of knowledge
• Dynamic, versatile, adaptive and thrives in ever-changing and innovative environments
• Flexible, embrace life-long learning and has a growth mindset
• Good interpersonal communication and documentation/presentation skills
