This role will serve as the Solution Architect for Risk/CFCC (Conduct, Financial Crime and Compliance), Audit, Legal Domains and expected to function as a senior member of the larger Risk/CFCC/FCSO/Legal/Audit architecture team. Besides stakeholder management and ensuring that architecture governance and technology standards are met in the assigned domains, the role is also expected to actively own and define the target architectures for these domains and govern the transition states. Working closely with the various Domain Technology teams, the person will also help drive architecture strategy, roadmap, governance and provide architecture guidance where necessary.
This will then help to drive standardisation and consistency across the Functions domains, with a view of landscape simplification and cost efficiencies.
Strategy
Responsible for Solution Architecture for Risk/CFCC (Conduct, Financial Crime and Compliance), Audit, Legal Domains
Collaborate with the wider architecture community across SCB to ensure that Group and Functions Architecture Strategies are executed within the area of responsibility, and on relevant pan-bank topics.
Responsible to work with Application Architects, project team and vendors to ensure that solutions are aligned to wider Functions/Group Architecture Strategy, Policy and Standards. Understand and review vendor product architecture and capabilities, where applicable
Ensure that patterns and best practices are being considered and applied across solutions
Responsible to work with Application Architects, domain teams and/or vendors to define domain architecture roadmaps.
Drive wider enterprise-wide strategic Architecture initiatives, where applicable.
Business
Collaborate with Business and Technology stakeholders (such as Technology Domain Heads and Global Heads, Domain Architect and Chief Architect) to drive alignment between Business, Architecture and Technology Strategies.
Engage proactively with business stakeholders to ensure that Architecture is involved at the onset of any solution that requires Technology, through active participation in business strategy workshops, QPRs and/or Refinement Forums.
Contribute to investment planning/prioritisation with the businesses and TTO.
Improve cost efficiency - drive efficiency by identifying opportunities to rationalise to a fewer best of breed platforms which provides strategic business capability and aggressively decommission redundant applications.
Driving and enable cloud adoption and modernisation of technology landscape, where applicable, across the assigned domains and Group Functions whilst balancing regulatory requirements like cloud approvals, data sovereignty and security.
Processes
Ensure Architecture standards and processes are adhered to for the assigned domain and domain level technical debt is tracked and monitored.
Work with Application Architects and Project teams on Evaluations and Proof of Concepts for new technologies and other strategic technology initiatives
Contributes to development of architecture strategy and standards for the organization
Responsible for creating, maintaining or reviewing Domain/Sub-Domain level architecture documentation in the area of responsibility.
Responsible for Reviewing Application / Project level architecture documentation from Application Architect/Project Team.
Facilitate cloud governance & approvals for the assigned domains, constantly seek opportunities for process optimisation and enhancements
People & Talent
Collaborate closely with Application Architect and Project team to provide guidance and drive architecture direction.
Thought leadership in the assigned domains and key contributor to Group Architecture initiatives/strategy
Be a mentor or coach to other members of the team, as appropriate
Risk Management
Proactive in seeking regular assurance that function is performing to an acceptable risk and control standards.
Include internal controls, legal and regulatory requirements in the processes supporting the function
Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and, if necessary, escalated through the relevant committees.
Balance business performance delivery and cost management with risk and control matters to ensure that it does not materially threaten the Group, remaining within risk appetite.
Work in collaboration with risk and control teams.
Governance
Be a part of domain architecture governance forums to actively be aware of and govern emerging decisions, in alignment with Functions and wider Enterprise architecture standards/policies/guidelines
Accountable for the governance of all domain level tech and architecture decisions through the applicable Architecture Review Forums and Functions Tech Council
Ensure compliance with all salient SCB governance processes/frameworks/policies where there are direct touchpoints with them or any subsequent downstream influence for Group Functions.
Ensure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements. This includes compliance with local banking laws, anti-money laundering, Open Banking, and Data Protection regulations and guidelines

Our Ideal Candidate
10 years of relevant experience, in a hands-on role for solution architecture in the Finance sector, preferably in banking
Functional knowledge in at least one of the domains of Compliance, Risk, Surveillance & Monitoring or any Compliance functions is required
Experience in large, complex organisations, ability to handle cultural diversity and managing senior stakeholders.
3 years of experience on developing enterprise applications using modern programming languages.
This is not an Enterprise Architecture role.
