The successful will be accountable for Infra technological capabilities and enhancing Service reliability for Application Infrastructure team. You will lead a team of Subject Matter Experts responsible for the Infrastructure and Platform technology stack, which consists of Database, Middleware, and Operating systems for Compute, with the objective of maximizing service reliability and reducing menial tasks through automation.

  • Manage a team of subject matter experts, responsible for the Infrastructure and Platform technology stack, that consists of Database, Middleware, and Operating systems for Compute, with the objective of maximizing service reliability and reducing menial tasks through automation.
  • Define the Infrastructure build and operational standards for the Application Infrastructure team, improve automation, and enhance monitoring, fault-tolerance, and scalability
  • Engage in Major Incident management calls, drive the team for Root cause analysis and problem management functions.
  • Drive the team with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps principles, technologies, platforms, and tools.
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by management. Identifies methods for improved operational efficiency and productivity
  • Assess IT Security and compliance risks and front the team in various external and internal Audits.
  • Act as a player coach for the Subject Matter experts. Track for continuous improvement. Ensure early identification and resolution of challenges impacting BAU systems
  • Oversee 24/7 Operational support for Application Infrastructure
Skills for Success
  • Degree in computer science/ Information Technology
  • Minimum 15 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Database Technologies, Middleware and Infrastructure Management. Expertise in leading a 24/7 Operational support.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Lead position within an IT organization responsible for 24/7 Production support or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Proficient and Subject Matter Expertise in Oracle Database Technologies, along with extensive operational experience in MS SQL, MongoDB, and Postgres. Experience in managing Database, Open Systems and Middleware technologies
  • Experience in infrastructure and software technologies, such as Operating-Systems (Windows, Linux, and VMware) and middleware platforms such as WebLogic and JBOSS.
  • Knowledge of LAN, WAN and Data Centre network architectures, enterprise design and industry standards relevant to data communications / networking and computing.
  • Extensive familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps principles, technologies, platforms, and tools.
  • Good understanding of Infrastructure tools within the Data Centre environment
  • Experience in dealing with vendors on technology and services.
  • ITIL certified and conversant in ITSM.
  • Understanding of project and program management planning and methodologies
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand
  • Problem solving skills. Ability to analyse complex problems and determine solutions.
  • Innovative thinking capability, with a passion for thinking out of the box and introduction of new technologies
  • Experience in large scale data center migration and hybrid cloud operations is advantageous.
