Job Description


UWCSEA Dover Campus is looking to hire a Learning Support Administrator to start from August 2024.Reporting to the Head of K - 12 Learning Support Administrator and working extensively with PS/MS/HS Heads of Learning Support, the incumbent will work collaboratively and harmoniously as a member of the K - 12 Learning Support team. They will take the responsibility to ensure all communication, procedures and systems in the K-12 Learning Support team are consistently professional. Through their attention to administrative detail and service ethic, the K-12 Learning Support team is seen as one single, highly functional body by students, parents, teachers, mentors, college leadership and the wider community, ensuring confidentiality and child safeguarding is a priority.This is a new and evolving role and the ideal candidate would need to be flexible, enjoy working in a dynamic environment and demonstrate initiative.This role also comprises a 20% administrative load to support Round Square activities. Round Square is a global organisation which UWCSEA Dover is a part of and this enables student exchanges, conferences, projects and also potentially gap year projects via the Round Square network.Main ResponsibilitiesThe K-12 Learning Support role includes (but is not limited to) the following more specific responsibilities:

  • Exhibit flexibility and adaptability in setting up new management systems; Design and implement systems aligned with department support models for tracking student progress, intervention and outcomes
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and IT professionals to identify data needs and requirements for K-12 learning support programs.
  • Assist in ensuring consistent communication across K-12 stakeholders such as parent communication, relevant staff communication, student communication and supporting the transition process; Working with the team to foster safe and inclusive learning spaces
  • Assist in organising department events and liaising with department leads to maintain resources for Learning Support spaces and website to enhance and promote community awareness
  • Manage all meeting preparation and budgeting, handle procurement forms and perform general and adhoc administrative duties for K-12 learning support department.
  • Perform admin activities for Round Square Administration such as replying to email enquiries, managing application forms and logs; Managing events and producing supporting materials, collaborating with other departments with regards to Round Square Administration matters
Person Specifications
  • Degree with a qualification in relevant fields of study (e.g., Bachelor\'s degree in Education, Information Systems, Computer Science)
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience with data management analysis, and reporting preferably in a school environment
  • Possess knowledge of support structures and models
  • Must be organised, meticulous with an eye for detail
  • Able to work cohesively in a team-based environment as well as independently
  • Proactive self-starter with a high degree of flexibility
  • Quick on the uptake - has the ability to learn new skills and procedures quickly and with ease. This includes participating in team meetings and professional development activities to stay informed about best practices in K-12 learning support and data management.
  • Passionate about working with children and must enjoy working in a busy school setting with regular interaction with students, parents and teacher
  • Excellent written and spoken English with strong interpersonal skills - the ability to engage others warmly with genuine interest
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and must be compassionate, flexible, approachable
  • Proficient in Mac platform (Google suite of apps - Docs, Sheets etc.) and collaborative software such as Google Calendar and event planning
  • Adhere to and maintain the confidentiality requirements within the Learning Support department and the wider College community.
