The College of Humanities and Sciences at the National University of Singapore (NUS) welcomes some 2,000 freshly matriculated Arts and Science undergraduates annually who will read a common curriculum comprising courses in Common Core, Integrated Pillars and Interdisciplinary Pillars. The compulsory science course which all students read is HSI1000 \xe2\x80\x9cHow Science Works, Why Science Works\xe2\x80\x9d.
