The National University of Singapore (NUS) is a leading research-intensive university that is consistently ranked among the world's top universities. The Department of Psychology at NUS has well-established undergraduate, graduate research, and graduate clinical psychology professional training programmes. The department consists of an internationally diverse group of faculty members who are committed to excellence in research, teaching, and clinical practice.

We seek applicants for a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology position (Educator-Track) to join us in July 2023. The Department at this time specifically aims to strengthen teaching in the NUS Clinical Psychology programme, hence all successful applicants must have a doctoral-level qualification in clinical psychology and be registered and/or licenced to practice in their home countries. Established clinical practice experience, academic teaching in a higher education establishment, and prior experience in providing clinical supervision are highly desirable. Further experience in post-doctoral clinical research, or in supervision of clinically applied research projects, would be advantageous.

Campus visits and interviews will likely take place in February 2023 in the NUS Department of Psychology. Shortlisted applicants must be available for campus visits during the specified period. The Department will not accommodate any requests for rescheduling of the campus visit dates. Remote online campus visits for overseas candidates will be considered.

Qualifications

Applicants should submit the following documents online:

  • Full CV, including education, professional background, teaching and supervision, research activities and achievements, honours and awards, and service accomplishments to date.
  • Name and contact details of doctoral thesis advisor/supervisor.
  • A Preface (maximum 300 words) that makes the case for your appointment. This should be a highly distilled summary of your key contributions to student learning and clinical and/or educational leadership, guided by your teaching philosophy.
  • A Teaching Statement (maximum 3,000 words) that focuses on evidence of student learning and educational leadership (if applicable). It should articulate your contributions across multiple domains of teaching practice (instruction, supervision, assessment and course design). Evidence of educational leadership can take the form of how you influence peers and others in their teaching practice. Where applicable, you may also briefly explain how your research and service contributions enhance your teaching in this Teaching Statement.
  • Teaching evaluations and peer review reports, if available. Other evidence of teaching excellence is welcome.
  • Sample module outlines, samples of teaching-learning materials and assessment tasks, if available.
Reference Letters
