Job Description


Qualifications

  • Native in Malay or near-native in Malay.
  • At least a Master\'s degree in Malay, Applied Linguistics or any related fields
  • Experience in teaching Malay, preferably in higher institute
  • Skills/knowledge/experience in online teaching as well as the application of IT to language teaching is preferred


The purpose of the Educator Track Scheme is to attract, nurture, and retain suitably qualified and highly effective faculty members who approach teaching as a scholarly practice, and who therefore focus on and are passionate about excellence in teaching as a means of supporting student learning. The initial appointment will be made on a 2- or 3-year contract, renewable subject to mutual agreement, with a career progression path for promotion (Lecturer

Associate Professor (Educator Track)
Professor).

The appointee\'s duties will include teaching, curriculum development, module coordination as well as administrative duties. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Relocation, leave, medical and housing benefits are provided in accordance with the applicable NUS regulations.

Applicants should minimally possess a M.A. in the teaching of Malay, applied linguistics, or related fields, and have at least three years of experience teaching Malay as a foreign language (preferably at the tertiary level) and developing Malay language curricula at any level. Additionally, applicants should demonstrate proficiency in the use of IT in teaching.
