What the role is:
Established in April 2011, the Centre for Foundation Studies runs preparatory programmes to provide a head start for students pursuing tertiary education in Temasek Polytechnic and beyond. In addition to our flagship Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP@TP), the centre also spearheads other foundational and preparatory programmes, such as the Online Preparatory Programme and the University Preparatory Programme (UPP).
What you will be working on:
The primary role is to design, develop, conduct, facilitate and review Mathematics programmes for targeted groups, and includes face-to-face and online instruction and interaction. Involvement in student development, event management and other training/publicity/administrative work, where applicable, is expected to:
Develop and conduct mathematics lessons for PET & CET learners
Develop and conduct NE and life skill lessons for full time students including PFP
Design and conduct learning needs analysis to implement relevant intervention strategy as well as to develop online learning packages, mathematics proficiency tests and appropriate self-directed learning packages
Conduct research study on current educational trend
Provide pastoral care and to facilitate NE, Life Skill as well as Education and Career Guidance related modules.
Be involved in student development work to enhance students' learning through field trips and programs both locally and overseas.
Support the Centre in, orientation, outreach, and other centre/school/polytechnic level committee work.
What we are looking for:
Relevant qualification and experience in Mathematics, Science or Engineering.
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Ability to lead and facilitate discussions, mediate different opinions and evaluate reasoning.
Highly motivated, able to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced yet collaborative work environment.
Have a passion for developing talents and enjoy working with youths and adult learners.
Experience in Gen AI application and/or Data Analytics and Business Intelligence tools (Python, Tableau, Power BI etc) will have an advantage.
