Responsible to provide value-adding legal advice and counseling to country management and colleagues
Responsible to successfully implement the Regional Legal & Compliance strategy within the Asia region and achieve the relevant KPIs
Responsible to ensure high compliance standards and risk mitigation mechanisms within the Asia region
This is an internal Adecco position under Adecco APAC Pte Ltd
Deal with a large number and variety of legal matters in a hands-on, pragmatic and efficient approach
Implement and execute Regional Legal & Compliance strategy
Meet and exceed Regional Legal & Compliance KPIs
Lead and develop the country Compliance practice including, education & awareness (training) and monitoring & enforcement
Support and partner with local teams on legal & compliance matters ensuring excellence in service and value-adding advice
Manage and advise corporate law/secretary matters, restructurings, IT purchasing initiatives and data protection compliance, commercial contracts (staffing, perm, outsourcing, etc.) and competition law, litigation and dispute resolution, crisis management, employment, etc. Required to review documents in Traditional Chinese and speak with Taiwan colleagues.
Manage insurance, Company business licenses and corporate secretarial matters, and other risk mitigation mechanisms
Review and implement Company policies and procedures focusing on risk mitigation
Supplement in-house legal work with carefully selected outside legal counsel, direct and monitor their activities in a cost-efficient way
Stay informed of and anticipate regulatory developments in all relevant areas of law, and advise management appropriately, designing effective implementations
Report to and maintain communication channel with Regional Legal & Compliance (QLR, etc.)
Ensure implementation and execution of Group policies
Collaborate with other legal colleagues in the countries and region
Carry out thought leadership initiatives to promote the function internally and externally
Pre-requisite
Possess a good Law degree from a reputable institution.
A minimum of 1-2 years of post-qualification experience in business law with a broad range of expertise, preferably including but not limited to: data protection, commercial contracts and employment law.
Proficiency in Thai will be an advantage
Experience in a top international or local law firm
Experience as in-house counsel, preferably, in a multinational and/or publicly listed company
Strong experience and track-record in drafting, contract review and legal compliance
