Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the company as Legal Counsel, where you will be involved in contractual, commercial and technical legal matters in order to provide contractual and commercial guidance to the business units of the company. As sole Counsel and individual contributor, you will report to the CFO, and dotted line reporting to Procurement and Special Projects Directors.

The company operates at the national and regional level and launches pandemic-related measures to safeguard communities, providing support in procurement and deployment of medical supplies such as testing & diagnosis, containment & contact tracing and prevention. The company also works closely with key partners and stakeholders to ensure communities are safe and protected from infectious diseases and emergencies.

Description

• Work with Stakeholders to draft clear and concise legal documents including contracts, contract changes/variations, sales & purchase agreements, memorandum of understanding, procurement documents, correspondences and legal letters, employment contracts, and confidentiality agreements
• Provide legal support on any disputes and liaise with external legal counsels for follow through on legal matters when required
• Prepare, lead and guide company employees on contract issues, compliance and policy matters (including anti-bribery, anti-competition and personal data protection regulations).
• Maintain records and files (online and hard copy filing systems) in a systematic manner for easy access and retrieval
• Support and drive any other assignments / initiatives / projects related to compliance or legal matters as and when required by the Company
• Review contracts (includes highlighting issues and analysing risks), and support corporate governance and administration

Profile

• LLB with at least 6 years of legal experience preferred in vendor contracts relating to goods and services, warehouse and logistics, leasing of labs, training services contract and legal dispute resolution.
• A high level of comprehension in understanding and interpretation of contractual language coupled with an ability to formulate arguments that support the contractual interpretation sought by the company.
