ABOUT THE ROLEThis role is a permanent position with a hybrid/flexible working arrangement, offering a good work/life balance.As Legal Marketing Specialist, you will support the Legal Marketing Manager in providing independent legal support and advice to South32. Your role will involve:

• Foster strong connections while offering expert legal guidance, including contracts, projects, and dispute resolution.
• Contribute to risk assessments and mitigation strategies, ensuring alignment with South32\'s legal framework and material risk considerations.
• Enhance legal operations by managing external providers, refining contract templates, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives within the Legal Function.
• Support the development and implementation of legal governance practices, deliver targeted training sessions, and contribute to knowledge management efforts to keep the Client Group informed and compliant.

ABOUT YOUYou will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Five plus years of experience in an in-house legal department.
• Possess a strong understanding of marketing, shipping, and commodity contracts, ideally with exposure to the resources industry and international business environments.
• Demonstrate proficiency in transaction document development, negotiation, and corporate/company secretarial matters, with an interest in sustainability and social performance issues.
• Excel in clear, concise communication at all levels while embracing change and thriving in ambiguous situations.
• Exhibit a pragmatic, commercially focused mindset, delivering high-quality, fit-for-purpose solutions with enthusiasm and accountability.
• Initiative in driving outcomes and contributing positively to team dynamics while maintaining the ability to work independently

Qualifications for this position are:

• Tertiary qualifications in law and current legally qualified and practising lawyer
