Job Description


Job PurposeTo deliver commercial results for the BBC Studios Asia business through by managing day to day relationship with licensing agents and licensees for consumer products (e.g. toys, publishing, merchandise). Build the BBC Studios brands in across the Asia Region with a focus on BBC Earth, Bluey, Hey Duggee and other key BBC brands.This role is based in Singapore.Key Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesLicensing and Consumer Products Commercial Activities in South East Asia and South Asia

  • Work with Brands and Marketing Manager to maintain relationships with licensing agents and licensees
  • Create plans for major commercial opportunities for BBC Studios brands
  • Support manager to deliver plans on time and on budget.
  • Keep accurate and updated forecasts for each licence and ongoing sales and retail listings for ongoing deals
  • Work closely with the relevant teams in Content and/or Brands to ensure timely delivery of information and assets to support specific commercial initiatives.
  • Facilitate internal approvals for product design, development activities and go to market strategy for multiple brands and licensed product categories
  • Work closely with the wider Sales and Distributions teams in South East Asia and South Asia and the region to maintain an aligned market strategy
Business Growth
  • Undertake market, competitive and customer research and analysis to develop recommendations for new opportunities.
  • Collate projections and feedback from the business to support decision making.
  • Manage the approval process for deals and new opportunities making sure understanding of timelines are shared and deadlines are achieved.
  • Working closely with stakeholders at necessary points to ensure they are aligned with activity and roll out plans.
Building the BBC Studios Brands
  • Support the Marketing teams to deliver Regional 360\xc2\xb0 marketing campaigns.
  • Managing agent and licensee queries with regards to assets requests.
  • Assist with the development and execution of B2B and B2C events to support the consumer products business.
  • Oversee creation of suitable sales support materials and brand presentations as required.
  • Attend trade fairs, presentations and industry events as necessary
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
  • Communication and analytical skills required. Ability to effectively and tactfully deal with diverse staff at all levels in Asia, the UK and global teams
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Influencing others, particularly those in other countries
  • Self-starter with the ability to see projects through to completion, problem solve, and multi-task under time constraints
  • Some experience in a commercial environment. Media and licensing sector experience is desirable
  • Track record of working with world class brands. Marketing and brand strategy experience an advantage.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English. Chinese and other Asian languages would be beneficial.
