Job role

• The Lifting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the set-up, maintenance, and safe and efficient operations of the lifting equipment. The candidate is responsible for coordinating and supervising all lifting activities in accordance with regulations and is required to be present during all lifting operations.
• He/She is required to be systematic and mechanically inclined, in order to use and operate rigging/lifting equipment and execute operations. He/She is also expected to work in rotating shifts and under time pressure.

• Coordinate and be present to supervise all lifting activities in accordance with the safe lifting plan and procedure.
• Ensure that only registered and appointed crane operators, certified signalmen and rigger participate in any lifting operation involving the use of any cranes.
• Ensure that the ground conditions are safe for the lifting operations to be performed by crane.
• Conduct briefing on the Lifting Plan, Risk Assessment & Safe Work Procedure to the signalman, riggers and crane operators.
• Ensure that crane operators conduct daily checks of their assigned lifting machines and appliances prior to the start of their work shift.
• Check the validity of the lifting machine certificate by the Approved Person and maintenance inspection program.
• Attend daily toolbox meetings with supervisors and workers for effective consultation, communication and coordination before the commencement of work.
• Ensure compliance with relevant government regulations and the company’s quality, safety, health and environmental (QSHE) policies, practices and procedures at all times.
• Perform any other tasks as may be assigned.
• Ensure maintenance regime summary is monitored and maintained.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in high-rise building projects
• Nitec (Intermediate) / Certificate of Vocational Training / BCA Builder Certificate / NTC Grade 3 or equivalent
• Completed Lifting Supervisors Safety course
• Possess Work at Height course certification
• Possess Supervise Construction Work for WSH (formerly known as BCSS)
• Good supervisory, and communication skills
• A team player with the ability to work independently as well as in a team
• MS Office literate
