Cross border and cross unit collaborate within the CIMB Group to jointly originate loan syndication deals.
Business Performance and Management
End-to-end execution of loan syndication deals across the CIMB Group, including:
Prepare pitching materials and deal structuring.
Lead efforts to originate and drive deal pitches, coordinating the preparation of term sheets and mandate letters, and successfully securing client mandates through proactive engagement and negotiations.
Leading the end-to-end transaction execution process, covering due diligence, credit and internal approvals, legal documentation and financial close.
Actively involved in the full spectrum of internal underwriting and credit approval activities, encompassing pre-deal name checks, market and credit clearances, credit risk evaluations and preparation of materials for formal credit approvals.
Coordinating on all other internal compliance and operational clearance for syndication deals, e.g. KYC and counterparty clearance etc.
Manage the syndication, book-building and financial close process and responsible for delivering the successful syndication closing.
Mentoring and guidance to junior members in the team.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and external auditors.
Ensure operational and risk compliance.
Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures of the group.
Key Requirements
At least 10 years experience in credit related fields.
At least 5 years of relevant syndication (sell-side) experience.
Regional loan syndication experience is an added advantage.
Experience in structured lending, such as leverage finance, special situations financing is an added advantage.
Familiar with corporate names active in syndication and/or club financing.
Corporate loans and credit structuring skills.
Have relevant loan syndication networking contacts and resourceful in building and discovering new market contacts and opportunities.
Knowledge on standard market terms and syndication operating procedures in running syndication deals.
Familiar with the APLMA networking platform.
Effective interpersonal skills required in managing extensive engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently whilst actively fostering and contributing to a strong team-oriented culture.
Public speaking skills and event management skills for organizing roadshow events.
Mandarin and/or Bahasa speaking skills is an added advantage to deal with Chinese, Malaysian or Indonesian companies and customers.
