Logistics Operation Manager (Major Account Warehouses)

  • Company location: Boon Lay (near Jurong Bird Park) (transport provided from boon lay, Choa Chu Kang & Jurong East MRT)
  • Degree in engineering, logistics, supply chain management, industrial engineering or equivalent
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in logistics operations management providing overall direction, implementation and continuous improvement in all phases of logistics solutions
The Company Our client is a global contract logistics company that manages outsourced supply chains and warehousing for global customers. Listed in the US & their customers operate in retail, e-commerce, technology, aerospace, telecom, F&B, healthcare, agriculture and infrastructure.The PositionReporting to the Senior manager, operations (APAC) based in Singapore. This role will be responsible for leading a team in the management of warehouse operations to achieve the operations KPIs and the required service standards. This may include managing the warehousing and inventory management system, physical distribution operations, implementing logistics technology, customer liaison and relationship, organization development and trainingResponsibilities:
  • Manage 4 warehouse sites for a Key Customer Account in Singapore (3 located in West and 1 located in East). Incumbent will be based at customer site, located at western part of Singapore
  • Lead & manage logistics operations to achieve the operations KPIs and the required service standards
  • Monitor and analyse P&L of operations, establish business controls and provide solutions to reduce cost and increase revenue
  • Defines roles & responsibilities, plans for department's future needs and operations, counsels employees on performance
  • Work with client and departmental staff to assure operational effectiveness, adherence to policies and procedures and maximization of flow of all incoming and outgoing material.
  • Ensuring information/ knowledge resources can be readily accessed and easily retrieved- manages quality system and continuous process improvement within the facility
  • Supervise and develops staffs and otherwise carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Ad-hoc responsibilities: process development and continuous improvement and managing total productivity
  • Meeting and exceeding customer metrics in terms of cost, quality, customer service and supplier performance
  • Define requirements for operation and ensures the implementation of new strategies and initiatives to meet or exceed requirements & customers expectations
  • Drive Lean Warehousing System
  • Ensure safe work environment for all employees
  • Administrator and communicates company policies
  • Review performance expectations with leadership team and communicate these expectations , performance planning, feedback to team members
  • Carry out training & development, performance discussions with staffs
  • Maintain good working relationships with customers
Job RequirementThe ideal candidate should possess:
  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience in logistics
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in logistics operations management providing overall direction, implementation and continuous improvement in all phases of logistics solutions
  • Preferably candidate to have experience in managing external customer at site (not mandatory requirement but good to have).
  • Good experience in domestic distribution, warehouse management, inventory planning, transportation management and logistics execution systems
  • Advanced level of Computer skills with a focus in MS office applications
  • Proven transportation/ logistics/Supply chain management knowledge
  • Strategi thinking, proven implementation results
  • Excellent Customer relationship management skills
  • In depth knowledge of international transportation, with regional emphasis / expertise
  • Experienced in customs and regulatory issues related to logistics
  • Ability to re-priortise workload to support urgent request from various operations
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation & problem-solving skills
  • Great leadership qualities
