An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Civil Aerospace Services business as a Logistics Operations Officer. We are executing a large transformation programme and this role will support the transformation programme in addition to the daily operational role.

With an annual external spend of over 100m, working in Aftermarket logistics offers a broad range of operational and strategic opportunities.

The role will involve working closely with key internal customers and third-part logistics providers to arrange transportation and storage of engines and parts across our aftermarket network.

The Logistics Operations Officer needs to ensure the engines and parts are shipped and/or stored to the right Quality standards and closely manage the associated financials with the suppliers and the business. Good communication skills are required across a diverse stakeholder group to ensure that customers are kept up-to-date on the status of shipments.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Monitor aftermarket logistics performance and KPIs.
  • Support delivery of a major warehousing optimization project.
  • Daily operational business interface between Rolls-Royce and our key Logistics partners.
  • Oversee storage allocation of engines to warehouses throughout the network.
  • Ensure compliance to Rolls-RoyceaEUR(TM)s storage standards and processes.
  • Identification and delivery of continuous improvement opportunities that deliver value to the business.
  • Run the end-to-end monthly financial and invoicing processes, from collation of customer liable charges, invoice backing data, invoice creation and payment tracking to raising of POs and receipting of services.
  • Report on delivery performance and exceptions / supplier failures and support our Logistics partners with root cause investigations and fixes.
  • Able to consult, collaborate with, and influence internally and externally to Rolls-Royce.
  • Monitor transport forecasts and delivery to plan.
  • Attend daily operations meetings with Logistics partners and Customers.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Degree in a technical or numerate discipline, or strong relevant experience.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work in a multi-functional and multicultural environment.
  • Previous experience working in Aftermarket Logistics environment is a plus.
  • Confident influencing stakeholder and good spoken & written communication skills.
  • Having worked within an aerospace or aviation industry or for a Logistics provider would be an advantage.
  • Proficient IT skills and fluent across Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with Coupa is preferable.
