Job Description


Apt Resources is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager Catering Performance to join the team of their client in the Airlines industry in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region. In this dynamic role, you will manage Catering Operations worldwide on a 24/7, year-round basis. Your responsibilities include ensuring that every flight departs on time with the agreed menus, stores, bars, and equipment, all while maintaining safety and compliance. You will track and measure caterer performance against agreed metrics, driving year-on-year performance improvements, and ensuring all third-party suppliers meet their stringent requirements.Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the supply of catering services across the network, ensuring budget adherence, minimizing meal wastage, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Lead, motivate, and challenge a network of 100+ suppliers to deliver catering services for cargo operations globally.
  • Develop, monitor, and track detailed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with all suppliers, working with Procurement to implement and apply appropriate service credits to incentivize performance improvement.
  • Develop and ensure the delivery of operational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for catering services.
  • Create and implement a catering supplier performance award scheme with monthly results reporting.
  • Track and report performance, develop improvement plans, and manage supplier activities to meet the expectations of Catering Services or Ground Services teams regarding menu development and compliance.
  • Ensure robust management of health and safety (H&S) and security policies by all catering suppliers, taking prompt action to address any shortfalls to maintain compliance.
  • Conduct detailed investigations into non-compliance issues identified by external parties (Flight Operations, Ground Operations, etc.) and follow up on Corrective Action Plans.
  • Ensure consistent delivery to agreed standards worldwide.
  • Stay updated on market trends and developments.
  • Establish departmental objectives and priorities to align with and support business goals.
  • Train and develop employees to ensure effective succession planning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Hospitality Management or a related business management field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in flight catering operations management.
  • Proven ability to manage suppliers and achieve results through supplier management.
  • Experience managing detailed SLAs to drive performance improvement.
  • Expertise in Operations Management, handling large, diverse workforces across multiple suppliers and cultures.
  • In-depth knowledge of inflight catering operations in a large multinational airline.
  • Strong command of English, both verbal and written.
  • Managerial skills, including delegation, setting clear directions, managing workflow, mentoring, coaching, training, and fostering teamwork.
Preferred:
  • Experience in the airline or flight catering industry.
  • Food safety diploma.
