About the role
PACE is an internal management consultancy embedded within Rio Tinto, based in Montreal, Perth and Brisbane. It comprises a team of management consultants and Rio experienced team members focused on working with each part of the business on opportunities that will deliver the highest possible value. Rio Tinto has established PACE to support the business in many areas where it has previously sought external management consulting expertise.
We are looking for a Manager – PACE Consulting to join our established internal management consulting team. This is a crucial leadership position to ensure PACE accelerates the delivery of lasting value to our ‘clients’ by applying consulting experience, analytical insights, business knowledge and relationships.
This is a great opportunity for a team player with extensive strategy consulting experience to work on projects that deliver value to the commercial business.
Reporting to the General Manager PACE Singapore, and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the PACE team, you will:
Work closely with Senior Leadership Team in Commercial to frame critical problems and translate them into an actionable scope of work that can be delivered by the PACE Team
Develop and maintain relationships with the key Commercial customers to ensure the projects are prioritized and aligned with the Commercial organisation
Work with PACE leaders to identify and scope consulting projects which create value for product group assets and functions
Autonomously deliver one or more projects at a time, managing the interfaces and ensuring strong collaboration with clients and their teams
Provide coaching and feedback to develop the PACE consultants on your project
Develop and present project findings that will deliver sustainable short- and long-term outcomes
Develop and lead the project work plan for a combined team of PACE and client team members to deliver outcomes
About you To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
Substantial experience (5 years +) leading projects in a top-tier consulting firm with a focus on strategy and/or business improvement
Extensive experience in leading and coaching teams to unleash their potential
Demonstrated experience in conducting analysis, ensuring accurate and updated data from varying sources and interpreting complex results to find key opportunities
Demonstrated ability to exercise critical thinking and challenge pre-established conceptions
Good understanding of business improvement principles and practices
Experience in project management and change management
Experience in scoping abstract ideas and translating them into actionable strategies
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
