Job Description


  • Plans and manages the Load Control and Ground Dispatch unit.
  • Develop customer support strategy for the business unit.
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience with 3 years as a manager.
ALG is currently recruiting a Manager (Load Control & Ground Dispatch) for our airport operations & services client based in Changi Airport Singapore. This is a full-time permanent position based in Singapore.

Plans and manages the Load Control and Ground Dispatch unit to provide high levels of service for all contracted customer airline. Accountable for the delivery of services that support the safe and punctual departure of all flights.

Reporting to the Manager, Ramp & Baggage Services, he/she is accountable for the business unit's accurate weight & balance and Ground Dispatch functions.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Load Control & Ground Dispatch unit, ensuring that Weight & Balance and Ground Dispatch requirements are provided according to the airline's requirements
  • Ensure employees are appropriately trained and licensed, together with other mandatory courses. Establish a robust development and succession plan within the department with HR, to ensure an uninterrupted supply of suitably skilled and qualified personnel
  • Direct and manage the unit to achieve operational targets and the highest levels of service delivery in line with customer requirements, ISAGO and ISO standards
  • Ensure the safety of staff, equipment and facilities in accordance with corporate, local and international standards
  • Manage the delivery of cost effective services within agreed budget. Monitor and control costs through effective resource management of staff in cooperation with Resource Planning and Real Time allocation units
  • Develop customer support strategy for the business unit for all airline customers. Maintain positive working relationships with customer airlines, airport authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure professional communications and positive outcomes that benefits our client's and its customers.
  • Drive innovative solutions and initiate continuous improvement through team creativity and ensure a collaborative approach with other business units within Airport Operations.
  • Liaise with CAAS, CAG, APD and relevant airport agencies.
  • Provide regular updates on overall operation status to Chief Operating Officer, Ground & Cargo Services, highlighting potential risks and areas of concerns with a defined plan of action
  • Responsible to coach and develop our client's Operations Control staff, to ensure that the team demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, behavior and competence on a consistent basis, and deliver the agreed expectations and objectives
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships and open communication with internal and external departments such as Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Changi Airport Group, Airport Police Division, Immigration and Checkpoints Authority and customer airlines
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum Degree or Diploma from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant industry experience with a demonstrable sound knowledge of airport operations.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership role/ management role.
