Work closely with VP Sales Iron Ore for key initiatives and forward planning
Based in Singapore, a global commercial hub for Rio Tinto with visibility and accessibility to key stakeholders
About the roleReporting to the VP Sales Iron Ore you will:
Contribute to the development of the Iron Ore annual sales plan. Generating and sustaining leadership alignment on a clear and concise plan.
Support the Iron Ore Sales teams (Sales, Book & Portfolio optimisation, the Regional Accounts and the Commercial - Ops engagement & S&OP) as required with a structured approach to planning, prioritising, tracking and delivering the plan/initiatives.
Develop a central roadmap of sales improvement projects and sales initiatives and track the progress of the value pipeline initiatives.
Contribute to the development of the financial forecast and 5-year sales plan, consolidate VP/GM inputs. Work closely with Finance ensure inputs are transposed into the plan/forecast.
Proactively identify opportunities and recommend areas of improvement where appropriate in the way the cross-team initiatives and projects are implemented. Support the teams as appropriate in the delivery of these initiatives and projects.
Provide recommendations on resource allocation across teams, as appropriate (e.g., for cross-team initiatives).
Prepare the monthly and quarterly agenda for the VP/GM meetings and the VP key talking points.
Coordinate internal reporting requirements such as investor briefings and Exco, generating high quality and insightful presentations.
Lead and develop a \xe2\x80\x9cfront foot\xe2\x80\x9d response capability and mentality so that we are capable of evaluating and responding on investment analyst papers/commentaries.
Keep abreast of industry news, trends, economic indicators, and competitors behaviour.

About youTo be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
Significant sales and/or marketing expertise across the mining and metals industry or peer industries.
Prior iron ore and iron and steel industry exposure in Atlantic and Pacific.
Proven track record of building business plans and driving delivery.
Strong acumen for analysis, sales, marketing, commercial and business development.
Demonstrated analytical thinking capability.
Demonstrated value trade-off experience.
Demonstrated problem solving capacity.
Ability to simplify complex problems and present comprehensible and workable proposals in written and oral modes to senior management.
B.A. Business, Finance, Engineering or equivalent / MBA.
