What the role is:
The Smart Nation Group - Digital Government (SNDG), under the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and administratively managed by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), plans and prioritizes key Smart Nation and digital government projects, raises the standards of Government ICT and services, builds long-term capabilities for the public sector, and promotes adoption and participation in digital and smart innovations. It takes a whole-of-nation effort, and we will actively engage the public, the industry and fellow agencies as we build a Smart Nation together. The Government Data Division (GDD) within SNDG is responsible for (a) developing whole-of-Government (WOG) policies to promote data management, sharing and use; (b) identifying and driving new initiatives to improve the exchange of data within Government agencies, and sharing of Government data with commercial partners and the public, and (c) strengthening data governance, such as through policies relating to responsible use of data, and capability and ecosystem building across WOG.
What you will be working on:
You will be part of a team refreshing strategies and developing initiatives to strengthen WOG data governance, through policy development and implementation of key projects such as o Develop and implement central data governance policies and guidelines o Build an ecosystem of support for Government agencies to enhance capabilities, through developing the necessary structures, skills/workforce interventions, and systems o Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across Government This role has significant impact as it allows you to formulate and implement effective data governance policies and support Government agencies to confidently exercise data governance.

Candidates should have: o Background in related domains such as Information/Computer Science, Data Analytics/Statistics, Law, Business, Engineering, or any related field o Relevant experience or interest to develop in one or more of the following: o Data Governance and policy o Regulatory compliance o Data management o Data privacy regulations o Workforce development o Capability building The ideal candidate possesses the following skills: o Strong systems perspective and able to see the big picture o Good perspective taking skills, able to analyse issues from different agencies' standpoints o Strong communication and interpersonal skills that can create a consensus on action from a wide spectrum of external and internal stakeholders o Work with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal and business stakeholders o Resourceful and proactive, particularly in proposing alternate solutions to achieve desired outcomes o Analytical and creative o Excellent written communication skills
About Ministry of Digital Development and Information:
The Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) drives Singapore's digital development in four key domains - the economy, government, security, and society. MDDI oversees the development of the infocomm technology, cybersecurity, and media sectors; the Government's digitalisation initiatives; and the national library, national archives, and public libraries. The Ministry is also responsible for effective public communications, and the Government's information and public communication policies.
