This position helps to build more effective and impactful Social Service Agencies (SSAs) by creating change at the organisational level (e.g., organisational processes and practices) in the aspect of volunteer management. The role involves: 1. Working with multiple stakeholders in the volunteerism ecosystem (e.g., public agencies, social service agencies, corporates) to pilot, draw learnings and scale projects which aim to strengthen volunteer management capabilities in the Social Service Sector. 2. Identifying trends in volunteerism and gaps in volunteer management based on research studies and ground sensing efforts and create and implement recommendations on the way forward. Through the effort, the role helps to build a stronger Social Service Sector that is augmented in manpower strength by volunteers, thereby creating a more resilient Sector, and a caring and inclusive Singapore. The role will also lead NCSS effort in employee engagement, through volunteerism as part of Public Service Cares. 1. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders in the volunteerism ecosystem to pilot, draw learnings and scale projects. Example: Corporate Volunteering Pilot
Work closely with MCCY, NVPC, MSF, AIC, SG Cares Volunteer Centres, SSAs and corporates to pilot a new model for corporate volunteerism.
Influence volunteer partnership models between corporates and community partners to achieve regular and sustained volunteerism at scale.
Provide suggestions to overcome challenges faced during the pilot.
Co-organise engagement sessions to facilitate cross sharing of good volunteer management practices.
Collect and analyse data (quantitative and qualitative) from participating agencies.
Draw learnings from the pilot project by observing the volunteering sessions, through meetings, engagement sessions and data / feedback collected from all participants.
Create recommendations on the way forward to scale the new model for corporate volunteerism at a national level.
Post pilot, to profile participating agencies and volunteers to acknowledge their contribution and rally more corporates and community partners to make the changes required.
Provide regular progress updates on the pilot project to senior management.
Identifying trends in volunteerism and gaps in volunteer management (e.g., Risk Management in Volunteer Involvement) based on research studies and ground sensing efforts and create and implement recommendations on the way forward. 3. Create and implement initiatives for NCSS employees to contribute to the community through volunteerism.
Identify and build sustained volunteer partnerships with suitable social service agencies to meet their organisation needs.
Recruit, onboard and deploy colleagues to suitable volunteering opportunities.
Support colleagues in their volunteering journey and create avenues for feedback.
Increase employee participation rate at a year-on-year basis.
Work with social service agencies to determine and articulate the impact made.
