As a member of the Policy and Strategy Department within the Grants Division, your role involves developing and reviewing grantmaking strategies and policies, evaluating their impact, and leading the dissemination of knowledge to enhance stakeholder capabilities.

What you will be working on:

As a member of the Policy and Strategy Department within the Grants Division, you will be involved in the following:

Develop and review strategies and policies related to grantmaking to ensure alignment with organisational objectives. This includes conducting comprehensive environment scans and in-depth research, gathering stakeholder input, and analysing data to inform the development of effective grantmaking strategies and policies. This involves delving into various external factors to identify opportunities for Tote Board\'s grants to create meaningful impact.

Evaluate the impact of existing strategies and policies, identify areas for improvement, and recommend adjustments to enhance the effectiveness of Tote Board\'s grantmaking strategies and policies. This includes developing and reviewing the performance metrics and reporting mechanisms to track progress against goals and objectives.

Lead the dissemination of knowledge and insights to enhance the capabilities of both internal and external stakeholders. This involves developing and implementing strategies and initiatives to effectively communicate key learnings, best practices, success stories, thereby empowering stakeholders to leverage this knowledge for their own growth and development.

Develop and coordinate division-wide strategic planning and corporate-related matters, to ensure alignment with corporate focus and across departments within the Grants Division.

Any other tasks/projects as assigned.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

Trained in any discipline

Minimum five years of working experience with at least two years in policy and/or strategy work preferred

Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

Effective communication skills

Good stakeholder management and partnering skills which include the ability to develop networks, engage in cross-functional activities, collaborate across boundaries, and find common ground across a wide range of stakeholders

Strong in research and data analysis

Good organisational, planning and execution abilities

Meticulous, self-motivated and willing to push boundaries and attempt new challenges

Good team player who is able to work independently

Note: This is a fixed term contract position.

Established in 1988, Tote Board (Singapore Totalisator Board) is a statutory board of the Ministry of Finance. As a broad-based grantmaking organisation, Tote Board works closely with stakeholders and partners, to support broad and diverse worthy projects in the sectors of Arts, Community Development, Education, Health, Social Service and Sports. Through these projects, Tote Board helps to uplift the community by giving hope to vulnerable groups and improving the lives of all in Singapore. Tote Board\'s source of grants is derived from operating surplus of the Tote Board Group, which comprises Tote Board and its wholly-owned subsidiary Singapore Pools (Private) Limited and Singapore Turf Club, a proprietary club owned by Tote Board. Tote Board also ensures that Singapore Pools (Private) Limited and the Singapore Turf Club conduct their gaming and racing businesses in a socially responsible manner, to provide legal, safe and trusted gaming as a means to counter illegal gambling.
